Government of India will provide Incentive to all various battery makers in order to set up manufacturing units as the government wants looks to enhance the promotion of electric vehicles, the ministry for renewable energy said on Friday. In order to reduce the population, Government to give incentives to battery makers as it promotes electric vehicles.
According to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has set a goal to ensure that all the new vehicles which will be sold in Income are electric by 2030. However, all such vehicles are costly due to the high cost of batteries, as almost all the batteries are imported.
Renewable Energy Minister R.K Singh conducted meeting with various manufacturers and also demanded them to set up units in India, ensuring that the Government would provide incentives to the sector, a ministry statement said.
The Government has also made several talks with the resource-rich countries to provide supplies of raw materials such as Lithium, which is useful for the production of batteries.
“(Singh) exhorted the industry to set up battery manufacturing units in India as future demand was going to be very high with the government promoting e-vehicles in a big way,” said the statement.
In above statement, they haven’t mentioned the name of companies presented for talks and also what kind of incentives will be provided to them.
With this new initiative, Indian Electric Vehicles will be helpful to various automakers such as Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.
In order to reduce pollution in various big cities of India, Government is taking a new initiative to introduce Electric Vehicles in India as soon as possible. Hence, Government to give incentives to battery makers as it promotes electric vehicles.
